How the thermostat works

Dec,13,2024 << 返回

The thermostat is an important part of the engine cooling system, its main role is to control the flow of the engine cooling also,

to ensure that the engine works in the normal temperature range, the thermostat is usually installed in the water pipes of the

engine cooling system. The engine will produce a lot of heat when running, if there is no cooling system to disperse excess heat,

the engine will overheat and damage. Therefore, the thermostat becomes an important part of the cooling system.

The thermostat works by controlling the flow of cooling according to the temperature of the engine. When the engine starts, the

coolant in the engine is in a low-temperature state, then the thermostat will seal the circulating pipes in the cooling system, so that

the coolant only flows to the engine, so that theengine warms up quickly to reach the engine's operating temperature, and improve

the engine's working efficiency. When the water temperature reaches the operating temperature set by the engine, the thermostat

will open the valve, so that the coolant through the radiator to dissipate the heat back to the engine again.
